Published by Admin on September 20, 2009
Ryan Mathews was selected for the WAC Offensive Player of the week after Boise States game.
#10 Boise State couldn’t handle Ryan Mathews has he managed to run right past them, literally. Ryan Mathews had probably the best performances in his college career, rushing 234 yards and scoring 3 touchdowns all which were over 60 yards. The Western Athletic Conference noticed this and named him Offensive Player of the Week.
This game also marked a career high for Ryan Mathews and put him on the national map. The first 2 touchdowns Ryan Mathews scored were in the second quarter putting Fresno up against Boise State 24-17 at the half.
Ryan’s career high 234 yards also ties for the most that anyone has had in the nation this year. Mathews also averages 149 yards per contest which leads the nation.
This is not the first time Ryan Mathews has won the Western Athletic Conference award. In 2008, after running 160 yards against Rutgers he was also recognized by the WAC.
